Like probably many other health practitioners in Ojai, about one-third of my "income" is barter. I trade yoga lessons for a wide range of services including dental care (worth thousands of dollars, my dentist has yoga credit for several lifetimes), beauty services like haircuts, manicures, pedicures; window washing and house cleaning; legal advise (trade with lawyers); typing and editorial services (yoga students who are professional editors edit my books in echange for classes). And ofcourse yoga/massage trades. Ofcourse the down-side to all this barter is less cash... This is most definitely an idea whose time has come!
